Why is it Always Atlanta?

Seriously? What is it about that city that causes the NBA to have major issues?

Once again the Raptors get screwed, this time because the clock starts early on the inbound. I didn’t know Vince McMahon was part of the stats crew for the Atlanta Hawks.

While we run the risk of talking about wrestling way too much lately, keep in mind that Atlanta was the home of WCW for many years. Blame Ted Turner, not Vince McMahon.

Remember last year when the scoring error in Atlanta altered a game for the Raps? Guess who scored that missed bucket? TJ Ford.

  • OMG! Conspiracy theory! 9/11!! JFK!!! The lunar landing!!! Atlanta scoring errors that totally screw the Raptors!!! OMGOMG! WTFOMG!

  • Don’t forget Miami earlier this year Nessa. They “fouled out” Shaq when he was still one foul short. The NBA thought that was bad enough to replay the last part of that game (ironically it happened after Shaq had been traded to the Suns).

That makes you wonder if they’ll give the Raps the win on this one. I mean, that game meant nothing (changing the result wasn’t going to do the Heat much good) and this one had some meaning. Plus, a guy fouling out early has a much less clear cut effect on the result of the game than denying the winning bucket with 0.5 left on the clock in the 4th does.

Also Chris, I blame Ted Turner for the Goodwill Games. That should be enough.

I blame him for Nancy Grace. I think I’m the winner.
